9/24/2014 0 Comments Main Projecthttp://www.pinterest.com/danielfoote65/artists-steal/ I Take RisksIn my project, I found myself taking many risks in pen to only see if they were worth it until the very end. The main risk taken in my project, was using pen, which left me with little margin for error. Normally I like being able to go back and correct mistake as I go, but for pen, you have to be very meticulous from the very start of the drawing. Another risk i took in my project was adding the waves in the background. At first I was very questionable if I could actually make it look like ripples in the water, but it ended up looking exactly how I wanted it. I Developed My art making skillsWhile doing my drawing, I had learned two skills that will help me very much in later art pieces. First off, I had learned the technique of stippling and that you have to be very precise the first time, and to plan the size of the object on the paper, because that will never be changed. Lastly, I had learned that often a piece of art will not come together until the very end, so you must be patient with yourself.

9/15/2014 0 Comments Scientific DrawingThis drawing is my still life, scientific drawing of a fox skull. While drawing this I had learned how to use the iPad to draw, and how to add specific value to a photo. In addition, i had also learned how to use pencil as a medium for a drawing when making the image that we were going to copy over into the iPad. My main success in doing this project is getting out of my comfort zone and trying something new. If I were to do it again, I would try to add more value to the photo and add more details to the faults in the skull. My next drawing is a still life of a glass vase. I had learned so much about art through this drawing, including how to use charcoal as a medium for drawings, how to find value in a photo where it is hard to find, I would consider this a success because i correctly used value in a situation that had very little dark area to shade in. if I were to do it again, I would make the vase skinnier at the top and wider at the bottom. My last drawing is a perspective drawing of a hallway. This has taught me how to make a 1-point drawing of almost anything, and that all lines in it will all go to one place. My main success in this drawing is being able to make all the lines go to one point in the hallway. If i were to do it again, I would make the lines less rigid and more rounded in most of the area instead of sharp corners. |
