10/14/2014 0 Comments Artists Steal Mini LessonsIn doing this mini lesson I learned how to take one line or object and turn it into something completely different than what it started as. I also learned that an artist can take someone else's technique as long as they make it their own. I consider this piece succesful, because I was able to make the creepiest thing possible out of a few lines of ink. If given the opportunity of doing this piece again, I would make te head skinnier to emphasize the legs of the monster more. My second artists steal mini lesson is the character remix, where I combined a pig from angery birds and the joker. In creating this piece, I learned how to mix acrylic paint and to morph destinct features of two people into one character. The most successful part for me was that I was able to destinguish the two characters that I had combined in this piece. Given the chance, I would change the color of the nose to a lighter purple and change the lips to a darker red, to better represent the Joker. My last artist steal mini lesson is the spray paint stencil, which was a howling wolf. A lesson learned in the proccess of making this stencil is how to use the exacto knife, and how to make precise cuts with it. I also learned how to spray paint a steenboks in a way that I wanted it to look. In hind sight, the most succeful part for me was that I was able to keep most of the spray paint from going behind the cardboard the stencil was on. If I were to make another stencil, I would make sure that each and every line is defined and taped down before I begin to paint the stencil. 9/24/2014 0 Comments Main ProjectÂhttp://www.pinterest.com/danielfoote65/artists-steal/ I Take RisksIn my project, I found myself taking many risks in pen to only see if they were worth it until the very end. The main risk taken in my project, was using pen, which left me with little margin for error. Normally I like being able to go back and correct mistake as I go, but for pen, you have to be very meticulous from the very start of the drawing. Another risk i took in my project was adding the waves in the background. At first I was very questionable if I could actually make it look like ripples in the water, but it ended up looking exactly how I wanted it. I Developed My art making skillsWhile doing my drawing, I had learned two skills that will help me very much in later art pieces. First off, I had learned the technique of stippling and that you have to be very precise the first time, and to plan the size of the object on the paper, because that will never be changed. Lastly, I had learned that often a piece of art will not come together until the very end, so you must be patient with yourself.
9/15/2014 0 Comments Scientific DrawingThis drawing is my still life, scientific drawing of a fox skull. While drawing this I had learned how to use the iPad to draw, and how to add specific value to a photo. In addition, i had also learned how to use pencil as a medium for a drawing when making the image that we were going to copy over into the iPad. My main success in doing this project is getting out of my comfort zone and trying something new. If I were to do it again, I would try to add more value to the photo and add more details to the faults in the skull. My next drawing is a still life of a glass vase. I had learned so much about art through this drawing, including how to use charcoal as a medium for drawings, how to find value in a photo where it is hard to find, I would consider this a success because i correctly used value in a situation that had very little dark area to shade in. if I were to do it again, I would make the vase skinnier at the top and wider at the bottom. My last drawing is a perspective drawing of a hallway. This has taught me how to make a 1-point drawing of almost anything, and that all lines in it will all go to one place. My main success in this drawing is being able to make all the lines go to one point in the hallway. If i were to do it again, I would make the lines less rigid and more rounded in most of the area instead of sharp corners. |
